Amrita Ghosh is a global merchandising and buying strategist with over 15 years of retail experience spanning apparel, childrens, beauty, cosmetics, accessories, home and lifestyle brands. She has consulted for the CEOs of digitally native brands such as Winky Lux and direct to consumer e-commerce brands such as Giggle. A noted expert, Amrita has held senior merchant and buying positions within wholesale, direct to consumer retail and outlet businesses of designer brands such as Diane von Furstenberg (DVF) and Rebecca Taylor. She previously held buying and planning positions at Macy’s and United Colors of Benetton.
Amrita has a deep understanding and applied passion for products. Her portfolio has included identifying and recommending new business opportunities to drive future growth as well as developing and maintaining merchandising assortment plans. She effectively combines creative with analytical thinking, measuring and setting product performance KPIs (velocity, margins, revenue, customer targets) to facilitate decision. Amrita has curated and optimized product assortments and led market research and analysis to create better brand, trend, and price strategies.
Amrita received her Masters of Business Administration in Marketing & Management from Marymount University and holds a Bachelor of Science in Business & Finance from American University Kogod School of Business. She has also studied Fashion Merchandising Management at the Fashion Institute of Technology. Amrita lives in New York City with her husband. She is an avid reader and amatuer photographer.
